Bill, great coverage on this issue. Rockwood creates committees to review challenged materials and they've posted the results of 6 (some referenced above). The consensus of all 6 is not only that the books should remain, but they should be available to every student without restriction. The school board votes to approve or deny the committee recommendations on these materials 12/16, but their approval is likely a formality. http://go.boarddocs.com/mo/rsdpa/Board.nsf/goto?open&id=C9GVV67DED1F

It’s so true. It’s even worse than we thought.

Bill, excellent articles. Regarding porn in public schools it may be worse than we think. This came across my radar last Jan, not sure how- God I think. Check out this webinar. Apparently the porn is embedded in the educational portals that districts purchase for their students to access while researching assignments. This way the students are not out on the wild web without filters....parents think the kids are safe using the 'approved' databases not knowing the porn is already embedded in the purchased material. Paid for with our tax dollars. Clever- like the serpent in the garden- more clever than all the other creatures. This webinar was presented by Protect Child Health Coalition.
