I generally like Trump and am ambivalent regarding DeSantis but I would have expected Trump to be more savvy about the people he surrounded himself with. Isn't that to be expected of a successful CEO from the private sector?

Pence, Milley, Wray, Barr, Balton, Sessions etc.

Why would this time be any different?

Trump actually addressed this head-on in Saturday's speech in Waco. He explained that he very little knowledge of Washington and the way it operated when he became president. He felt he needed some people who knew how Washington (and government) operate. So, he hired some people who he thought were on his side.

I'm pretty confident there will be no one such as Barr, Bolton, or Wray in the second term. It will be family only. And he has a whole new crop of excellent people to choose from, especially the 20 MAGA Reps who forced McCarthy to play ball in January.

We'll that's encouraging. Which leaves me with one reservation at the moment. It's age. I can speak with experience on that subject. We're already dealing with bat shit crazy and don't need the possibility of more of the same. When someone hits 80 they could roll out of bed one morning and keep on rolling no matter how fit they were the night before. If Trump is the candidate he better have a solid 45/50 year old running mate. Hopefully from the private sector. Any thoughts?

Thought 1 is that Trump is 4 yrs younger chronologically than Biden, but he looks like a 40 year old athlete next to Biden. Biden is still making noise like he’s going to run. Politicians are like addicts.

Thought 2 is that he doesn’t need someone from the private sector. Trump is the only politician I remember who came in from the private sector who didn’t get owned by the Swamp.

He needs someone who already knows the game and will be as ruthless as the DC Leviathan, so he’d actually have someone watching his back instead of helping pick out where to put the knife.

And do you have a list?

About thought 1 . . . anyone still standing looks like a 40 year old athlete next to Brandon.

If the taxing district is dissolved, what powers & rights did the old board have to pass on to Disney?

I may have worded that poorly. The taxing district remains, but the old Reedy Creek board was dissolved and a new board created. But the Reedy Creek board members retained control, apparently, of the new board for a time and used that window to transfer the board's authority to Disney. And it sounds like the law is on Disney's side.
