As I aged through my late 20s and 30s, I noticed something odd: the athletes and coaches I “hated” most growing up became some of my favorites in their retirements. This list includes Bobby Orr, Phil Esposito, Roger Staubach, Tom Landry, and just about everybody else on the Dallas Cowboys in the 1970s.
