It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that, if Biden continues on his current trajectory, the Democrats could be nearly out of business come November. They have to pull out of that free-fall. But what they can change is limited.

The economy and inflation are big problems, as is the supply chain. But fixing those problems is partially outside the president’s control, and a fix applied today would take many months to produce fruit.

But the federal response to Covid, including the “official” data, are completely in the hands of the president and his health advisors. The CDC can make up anything, and the White House can go along with it.

Thus, we see these changes in just 24 hours

Biden tells governors “there is no federal solution” to Covid.
The CDC revises down, from 73% to 22%, omicron’s prevalence, shifting the blame for hospitalizations and deaths back to the delta variant
The CDC rescinds PCR testing for Covid because it can’t distinguish between Covid and influenza, along the flu to make a mighty comeback in 2022
The CDC announces that vaccine mandates for domestic air travel are NOT being considered
Major media are confirming that omicron is far less severe than prior strains
The CDC reduces quarantine time for people infected with Covid in half, to 5 days from 10 days
The CDC eliminates post-infection Covid testing, admitting false positives for up to 12 weeks after infection

Do you see what’s happening? These major shifts all came between yesterday morning and noon today.
