Matt Gaetz Just Gave a Master Class on How Totally Dysfunctional Government Is

Our enemy is not Democrats. The enemy is government itself.

Matt Gaetz believes the only way to save the country is for the populist right (us) to unite with the populist left (AOC, Bernie) and agree to not disagree until our common agenda items are solidly achieved. After that, we can continue our age-old fight.

Gaetz was the guest on TimcastIRL Friday. I’ll embed the video below in case you missed it. Before that, let’s think about Gaetz’s challenge.

The Populist Right (MAGA) Cannot Beat the Deep State or the Establishment

MAGA has numbers. The populist left has numbers. The Deep State and the Establishment don’t have numbers, but they have the surveillance state, the police state, the courts, the federal bureaucracy, the education system from kindergarten through PhD, the entertainment industry, the news media, approximately 492 of the Fortune 500 corporations (and 100 of the Fortune 100), and 99.9 percent of the money. Plus, if the Deep State-Establishment Cabal (hereafter, DSEC) feels that’s not enough, they have the US military and most large police departments at their disposal. They can also unleash Antifa, Black Lives Matter, and a hundred other terrorist groups, all of which receive their funding and general guidance from the DSEC. (Have you wondered why leftwing terrorists never go to jail?)

Moreover, the DSEC knows how to divide the universal populist base. They instigate fights between populist right and populist left. They manipulate us to consider liberals and leftists our enemies. They’re not. they are our adversaries. We have a common enemy, and it is the DSEC. So long as we insist on ideological purity, we will continue to lose ground. And we have scant little ground to lose.

America will be destroyed unless we get over the ideological battles of 1969 through 1999 and realize the DSEC wants to make slaves of us all. You can’t break up big tech without AOC and Bernie. If you think you can, sorry, but you’re ignorant of how things work. Perseverance isn’t enough. Large email lists aren’t enough. Sincerity isn’t enough. You need multiple fronts, force unity, and dogged attention to the objective.

The Army hates the Navy. The Navy hates the Army. And everybody hates the Air Force. And the Marines hate everybody. If you’ve ever served on active duty, you know what I’m talking about. We take great joy in belittling the other branches.

But we don’t undermine each other. The Navy didn’t tell it was dropping a bunch of soldiers on the beaches of Normandy just to watch their fellow Americans die. When the shooting starts, the services branches become one, fighting, killing, bleeding, and dying for each other. When the war’s over, or maybe just the battle, we go right back to insulting the guys in the funny looking uniforms who insist on calling the bulkhead a “wall” and wearing their covers indoors.

Aside: One of my shipmates told this joke in the club in Dunoon, Scotland, around a table of sailors, Marines, and one Army guy who was inexplicably in Scotland, probably thinking it was Germany.

RECRUITER: Son, why do want to join the Navy?

RECRUIT: Sir, I know how to swim, so I couldn’t join the Coast Guard. I don’t have a record, so I can’t be a Marine. I like women, so the Air Force is not an option. I can read a map, eliminating the Army. So, the Navy’s my only hope.

This was in the early 80s, and Dunoon was full of KGB-funded anti-nuke terrorist groups. If they had attempted an assault on our club that night, they’d be bragging in hell for all eternity that it took three branches of the US military to kill them.

But I digress.

The shooting has started, and we need to treat the populist left like another branch of our nation’s armed forces.

Legislatures Are More Corrupt Than You Can Imagine

Gaetz gave the folks on Timcast a lesson in how Congressional leaders are made. It’s a simple formula:

1. Run in a safe district (House) or state (Senate) so you’re assured of re-election.

2. Raise a ton of money even though you don’t need it because you run virtually unopposed. (We’re talking in the billions.)

3. Trade that money for leadership votes with people in purple districts who need the cash but can’t raise it because the lobbyists don’t know whether your or your opponent will win.

4. Repeat.

That formula is the same in the Missouri legislature. House and Senate party leaders aren’t the most skilled politicians, nor the sharpest minds, nor the most loyal to the party’s platform. They’re the people in safe districts who will do the bidding of lobbyists and special interests. They build war chests, not for their own re-election, but to buy the votes of people in 50-50 districts.

Because party leaders are non-ideological, they have no problem helping corporations, industry groups, and activists who oppose their party’s goals. A couple of sessions back, Missouri’s Republican super majority passed the biggest tax increase in state history despite running on tax cuts, promising tax cuts, and ridiculing tax raisers. The moral of the story is, there’s good money to be made in selling out your friends. Far more than in standing on principle.

As a member of a legislature, you’re also allowed to trade stock on information not available to the general public. That’s how Nancy Pelosi and Mitch McConnell became near billionaires on a salary of less than $200,000 while maintaining homes in two states, one of which has the second-highest cost of living in the United States.

And there’s just plain bribery that happens every day. He gave two examples:

1. As a freshman Congressman, Gaetz asked for a seat on some committee. The committee chairman told him, “That’ll be seventy-five thousand dollars.” Gaetz asked if the guy was wearing a wire.

2. Every day, members of Congress bribe other members legally. These bribes take place on the floor where the Constitution guarantees anything goes. Article I, Section 6, in part:

They shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest . . . and for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place.

The shakedowns go like this: “Pete, we could really use your support on HB 112. Oh, and I hear you’re having a fundraiser tonight. I can’t make, so I’ll just give you my donation now,” as he passes Pete a check for $10,000. It happens every day, and perfectly legal.

That’s how legislatures work. If you wonder why the really ones quit after two terms never having earned a significant committee chairmanship, now you know. The good ones don’t take or give bribes, and bribery runs Congress.

The Deep State Is Real and More Insidious than You Know

The ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Fire Arms) is as Deep State as it gets. For years, they’ve been waging a war on the Second Amendment. They make regulations, in violation of the Constitution, that makes legal activities illegal. Just last week, they ruled that braced pistols are illegal, and anyone who owns one will be charged with felony, fined $250,000, and sentenced to a long prison term. You have 120 days to destroy or surrender your weapon. The ATF has no authority to make such a law, but no one in government will try to stop them for fear of someone discovering a box of classified documents in their Corvette garage. This is simply how the Deep State operates. It is an enemy of the left and the right—it is the DSEC.

The Only Way to Kill the DSEC Is to Resist Left-Right Warfare

Picking fights with the left does more damage to the union than picking fights with RINOs. Only RINOs say that acts of principle (such as we saw during the 16 rounds of voting for a Speaker) will tell you, “this is just strenghening the Democrats.” (I’m looking at you, Marjorie Taylor Green.)

The DSEC keeps us fighting the left so we don’t turn our attention on them. Our side happily complies. Then, we’re shocked when Mitch McConnell clears the path for a $1.7 trillion omnibus spending bill that is 100% anti-freedom. Literally, every dollar in that budget undermines the Republican platform, and Mitch McConnell calls it a win. Even the military spending goes to raising an Army of individuals who want us dead.

If we have any hope of avoiding generations of slavery, we have to knock off our fights with the left and get serious about destroying the Deep State. You cannot fight both the government and the liberals; you’ll be a two-time loser.

Look What Jim Hoft and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Are Doing

The lawsuit was filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.

The suit targets the Washington Post, Reuters, the Associated Press and the British Broadcasting Corp., which formed what they dubbed the Trusted News Initiative.

This is exactly how we destroy the DSEC. Robert F. Kennedy is a liberal. Not a leftist, but a liberal who sincerely love the United States of America. His uncle was President John F. Kennedy, the first president who tried to follow Eisenhower’s advice to curtail the power of the military-industrial complex. John F. Kennedy was assassinated by the CIA for his efforts.

Yes, fighting the DSEC is dangerous as hell. They already want us dead. Slavery is just our other option in their view. But they’d rather kill us. (Which booster are you on?)

Jim Hoft is perhaps the most consistent conservative I know. Yet, he has become friends with Robert F. Kennedy because both men put country and liberty far ahead of their partisan issues.

Matt Gaetz, too, has worked with AOC and Omar to fight big tech. Not removing their stupid exemptions, but breaking them up into tiny pieces, forcing their algorithms into the public domain (open source), and limiting their ability to grow in influence.

This is how we win, folks. And if we don’t do our part and put liberty and country before relatively petty issues, we will die envying the people who lived in Stalin’s USSR. As Benjamin Franklin said, "we must all hang together, or ... we shall all hang separately.”

This isn’t mere politics. This civil war. The DSEC has been fighting this war for decades. We’re late to the muster. And this is our last chance. By my reckoning, we have about a year to score a major win, or we will be crushed.
