Hope is a virtue only when the situation is hopeless, according to Gilbert K. Chesterton.
Thus, last August, I wrote a post that predicted November’s election rather accurately.
In that post, I pointed out that the Deep State was planting, in advance, the evidence needed to explain the election three months later.
In short, they’re preparing to steal the election by planting in advance a plausible story to explain what would seem to be the impossible. It’s the DARPA playbook.
I forgot about that post, and maybe you did, too. But it’s important to remember that our situation is hopeless.
The Deep State will not surrender power it has obtained through Covid, stolen elections, and executive fiat.
The media (useful idiots to the Deep State) will not suddenly decide to seek the truth.
Pederasts and pedophiles will not suddenly decide to pick on people their own age.
The administrative state will not decide to fold its tens and return to the private sector.
Like many others, I get caught up in wishful thinking. I allow myself to believe that Jim Jordan, Matt Gaetz, Lauren Boebert, and other Congressional renegades will actually begin rolling back the tyrannical government that oppresses us and makes a mockery of the Constitution and the very idea of self-governance. I have moments of enthusiasm that the American people, in large numbers, will wake up and shut down the economy until government relents. I get a twinge of excitement that the ordinary folk who bought into the vax propaganda will erupt in fury that they were sold a deadly bill of goods.
But, alas, a wish is not hope. Wishing is magical thinking—believing that articulating ones preferences will somehow make them come true. It’s like borrowing a million dollars on the belief you’ll win next week’s Powerball jackpot. Or, worse, believing that borrowing a million dollars will cause you to win the lottery.
We on the right gleefully await the first hearings of the new “Church” committees. Meanwhile, a million illegal immigrants—including many rapists, murderers, drug dealers, and thieves—pour across our southern border to wreck havoc on cities and towns across the fruited plane.
While we retweet a pithy shot from Jack Posobiec, another hundred billion dollars lines the pockets of Ukrainian oligarchs. A dozen such were recently fired for spending US tax dollars on sports cars, luxury vacations, mansions, and other extravagances that you paid for. (Read the details on The Gateway Pundit.)
While we patiently await the outcome of Kari Lake’s lawsuit against Maricopa County, Katie Hobbs commutes 100 death sentences and abolishes school choice.
While we mock Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell, their agenda advances.
While we cheer Donald Trump’s senior golf championship, Joe Biden deposits another check from the CCP.
What I’m trying to tell is that all our reasons for optimism are mere manipulations. The Deep State is keeping us in check. So long as we have reasons to believe we are just one election away from Morning in America, we won’t revolt.
And we won’t. Twenty-first century Americans are not the stuff of revolution. We’re the stuff of Netflix binges and Tik Tok videos—aging, spoiled children.
Thanks to the rapid decay of civilization, though, we have a reason to hope. Finally, our hope can be a virtue. And we need it, because something bad is coming.
I want you to read this description of a video I’m embedding below. You will want to watch the video and learn about the apparitions and warnings discussed. (Emphases mine.)
The death of Pope Benedict XVI is shedding new light on the mysterious Garabandal Apparitions, which speak of the end times: an urgent need for repentance, the coming wrath of God, and the overflowing cup of poison filled by corrupt bishops, priests, and cardinals. Has the death of Pope Benedict XVI unleashed this prophecy despite all the warning signs? Listen to the Virgin Mary's last warning as explained by Glenn Hudson, a man personally healed in connection with the Garabandal Apparitions. With the death of Pope Benedict XVI, Glenn Hudson's account of Garabandal may be the last warning given during these times — and into the final era of the Church.
Now, watch this video.
Did you watch and listen? What did you think?
Such warnings we’ve heard all our lives, I’m sure. But I am 59 years old, and never in my lifetime were so many such warning coming from so many sources, contemporary and ancient, while the collapse of civilization and the total corruption of the Church were playing out before our eyes. Watching the world is like binging on a Netflix disaster series. And we’re in it.
In case you haven’t heard, the Doomsday Clock is now a scant 90 seconds shy of nuclear midnight—the time when all our troubles vaporize, along with sizable chunks of the earth’s crust and everything attached to it. This harbinger of mass extinction arrived thanks to the United States’ insistence on prolonging the war between Russia and Ukraine.
Catholic bishops, cardinals, and priests are abandoning 2,000 years of sacred scripture and tradition to promote “living in the age” and “getting with the times.” Pope Francis just called for the normalization of homosexuality throughout the world.
Every institution and profession we revered since their foundings are openly corrupt and reviled. No honest man would hire a former FBI employee or CIA agent, once among the most highly trusted people in the country.
Perversion is not only tolerated, it is demanded by our culture, employers, and producers of the things we buy and use. California has even legalized sodomy with children.
Ancient Greece and Rome were decadent, sinful societies before they heard learned and listened to the Good News two millennia ago. They had an excuse for their wantonness that we lack. You cannot justify your sin by pointing to the sins of the ignorant. We’re on the wrong side of the Bible for that excuse.
Yes, we’ve all heard “the end is near” many times in our lives, as did our parents and grandparents and ancestors going back to the time of Christ. But my study of history finds no parallel to a time when man so deserved to be wiped out or kicked back to the Stone Age. As the characters said in the Gen X flick True Colors: “We may not get what we want. We may not get what we need. Just so we don’t get what we deserve.”
The message of Garabandal is simple: repent of your evil ways, or the chastisement will be horrific. Our Lady of Akita told Sr. Agnes in 1973 that the survivors will envy the dead.
And there is our hope. In His infinite mercy, Jesus Christ provides every opportunity for us to get through whatever is in store for mankind. Those graced to be in communion with the Catholic Church have recourse to the sacraments of reconciliation and the Holy Eucharist. We have been blessed with centuries of wisdom by serious men and women avoided sin, pursued holiness, and felt the Word of God. They have left us written instructions if only we would read and follow.
In His providence, Our Lord who chose Mary as the vessel of His incarnation has sent her to warn unlikely messengers of the dangers of continued decadence. There was the famous apparitions of Fatima, La Salette, and Akita. Every time, she warned us that God will chastise mankind if we don’t repent. In each apparition, she spoke of clergy gone bad and man neglecting his duty to her Son and the Father. And after each apparition, her words turned some hearts while most people merely nodded and went back to their destructive lives.
Our hope now matters. This hope is not in the Republican House or the 2024 election, but in the same Lord and Savior Who has been our only hope since the beginning of time as we hear in the words of Simeon to the Blessed Virgin Mary when she and Joseph presented Jesus at the temple (Luke 2:29-32):
Now thou dost dismiss thy servant, O Lord, ☩ according to thy word in peace;
Because my eyes have seen thy salvation,
Which thou hast prepared before the face of all peoples:
A light to the revelation of the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.
Thus, the hope of Abraham and Joseph and Jacob is our Hope which Zacharia recognized in his canticle (Luke 1:68-79):
Blessed be the Lord ☩ God of Israel; because he hath visited and wrought the redemption of his people:
And hath raised up an horn of salvation to us, in the house of David his servant:
As he spoke by the mouth of his holy Prophets, who are from the beginning: Salvation from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us: To perform mercy to our fathers, and to remember his holy testament,
The oath, which he swore to Abraham our father, that he would grant to us,
That being delivered from the hand of our enemies, we may serve him without fear,
In holiness and justice before him, all our days.
And a commission to bring this Hope to those stumbling in the darkness of this rotten world:
And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways:
To give knowledge of salvation to his people, unto the remission of their sins:
Through the bowels of the mercy of our God, in which the Orient from on high hath visited us:
To enlighten them that sit in darkness, and in the shadow of death: to direct our feet into the way of peace.
Our hope is Hope Himself, and it seems time is running out for us to recognize our hopelessness and grasp onto the lifeline of Hope that dangles before us in easy reach.
Peace and Hope, my friends.
Phew!!
