We have always left our rally sites better than we found them, and we have no intention of changing that pattern today.
If you attend the rally to support freedom and the fair application of the law today, please follow these guidelines:
Be polite to everyone. Pray for your enemies.
Report anyone who suggests violence or entering restricted areas to the police or to Bill Hennessy.
Do not block traffic. We’re tying to inconvenience people, we’re trying to address government.
Do not litter. If you see litter, please pick it up and throw it away.
Don’t argue. Instigators will try to draw people into fights. DO NOT TAKE THE BAIT.
Leave when the organizers say leave. Go directly to your car. Do not stop and chat with friends. If you want to chat, decide on a place to meet on your way to your car.
Stay with a group of 4 or more people you know at all times. Don’t be alone.
Pray before, during, and after the event. What do is for the greater glory of God and freedom for His people.
Be humble. We don’t have all the answers. We only know right from wrong, and we are compelled to speak out. “If you see fraud and don’t say ‘fraud,’ you are a fraud,” —Nassim Taleb.
Remember we are there to exercise our freedoms under the First Amendment: speech, the press, peaceable assembly, and redress of grievances.
Almost every Tea Party event from 2009 to 2016 was entered into with trepidation, except for the private events. Our enemies are arrayed against us. Prudence is a good thing.
If we go to serve ourselves, the warnings from our friends will prove prescient. But if we go to serve God, He will sustain us. Whatever happens comes from Him.
Please pray for Jim Hoft and me as we pray most humbly for you.
May our event today please God.
