I Feel Like a Fraud Every Time I Say the Pledge of Allegiance
I have no allegiance to the United States government
A few months back I attended a political gathering that began with the Pledge of Allegiance. While others in the room jumped to their feet, I hesitated. Then, like a coward, I obligingly followed their lead. Throughout the recitation, a voice in my head said, “Hennessy, you’re a liar.”
I have no problem pledging allegiance to the country founded after the Declaration of Independence, but only a fool believes that that government—or any government founded on the principles propounded in the Declaration—still exists. The United States government today is a form of despotism Thomas Jefferson could not even imagine.
No one who believes in the philosophy position of the Declaration of Independence can pledge allegiance to the dictatorship that now runs this country. To love the idea of America is to hate its government, and to love its government is hate the American ideal. Thus, my dutiful recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance was both cowardly and hypocritical. I apologize for that.
Last night, Matt Taibbi (one of the greatest journalists alive) released a 16-part Twitter thread exposing just some of the collusion between the the FBI, corporate media, and Twitter during the 2020 presidential election. (Warning: the thread is very difficult to follow.)
The thread leaves no doubt that the the 2020 election was scam—an intelligence operation orchestrated by the Department of Justice under Attorney General William Barr and FBI director Christopher Wray—to remove President Trump from office by any means necessary. (I suppose we should be grateful that rigging an election was enough, because there’s no doubt the FBI would have assassinated Trump otherwise.)
Taibbi’s thread appeared 90 minutes later than promised. The delay, according Miranda Devine, the New York Post reporter who broke the Hunter Biden laptop story, may have been the result of Elon Musk’s lawyers getting cold feet because of threats by the FBI. (Miranda Devine will release more information about this through the New York Post on Monday, unless the FBI intervenes.)
The FBI is the American Gestapo, as Steve Bannon reminds us, and there are no good people who work there. Reject the Sean Hannity BS about how great the FBI guys are. They are not. Everyone still wielding an FBI badge is pledged enemy of America, and every one of them will take you down without batting an eye. How do I know this?
