How to Tell DeSantis Would Not Reform the DOJ
Behavioral science and game theory paint an ugly picture of Ron DeSantis
How You Know DeSantis Would Not Rein In the DOJ
No matter what Ron DeSantis says he will do as president, we know he will not take any action that the DOJ would consider a punishment. Therefore, some of the things DeSantis would NOT do as president include:
DeSantis will not cut funding for the DOJ or FBI
He will not appoint an Attorney General repugnant to the DOJ or FBI senior management
Ron won't authorize an independent investigation of the DOJ or FBI
DeSantis would never pardon Donald Trump
As a candidate, DeSantis hopes to win over some Trump supporters by promising to clean up the DOJ and FBI. He promises he will investigate their handling of the Laptop from Hell, the Boxes Hoax, and many other serious crimes committed by the DOJ and FBI. But he will not. Ron DeSantis is lying to you. We know he will not because of game theory.
Game Theory Says DeSantis Will Not Punish the DOJ
One way to determine the behaviors of "players" facing a risk is to find out if there is a Nash Equilibrium.
A Nash Equilibrium is a combination of choices by two opposing players in which neither player benefits from moving to a different choice.
In the case of DeSantis vs. the DOJ, the choices are like this:
The first number in the cells is DeSantis's score for making that choice. The second number is the DOJ's. Both players have the same choice: to punish or not to punish their opponent.
If there is a cell from which both parties cannot gain, we have a Nash Equilibrium.
As it turns out, the Nash Equilibrium is reached when DeSantis does NOT punish the DOJ and the DOJ does NOT punish DeSantis.
Because DeSantis cannot control what the DOJ does, any move he makes away from Don't Punish will be a negative. The DOJ has the upper hand, as it has three "winning" combinations. The only way the DOJ can lose is if DeSantis punishes them and they do not retaliate.
Therefore, DeSantis will not punish the DOJ and hope that the DOJ doesn't punish him. He is at their mercy.
Turn-Taking Says DeSantis Will Not Punish the DOJ
One limitation of the game above is that it assumes both players must make their choices without knowing the choice of the other player. In other words, DeSantis won't know the DOJ's choice prior to making his move. Likewise, the DOJ won't know DeSantis's move before making theirs. But, because the only way the DOJ can "lose" is if they do not punish DeSantis but DeSantis punishes them, they might as well punish him.
That's probably not realistic. It's unlikely the DOJ would punish DeSantis except in retaliation. So we're more likely to face a turn-taking game. DeSantis gets the first move in the form of choosing an Attorney General.
If DeSantis picks an anti-Deep State AG, the DOJ will consider it a punishment and retaliate. They can retaliate by investigating and indicting the AG nominee or by investigating DeSantis. They can leak false information about either the DeSantis or his nominee to the press. They could also go after DeSantis's family and friends or the family and friends of the nominee. In other words, the DOJ's options for punishing DeSantis are almost limitless.
DeSantis, on the other hand, is limited in choices. He knows that the DOJ will retaliate if he appoints an anti-Deep State AG. Their retaliation would likely result in a crippled, one-term presidency with possible criminal prosecution after leaving office. Therefore, DeSantis would conclude he and the country would be better off if he did not nominate an anti-Deep State attorney general. Therefore, we can safely predict that DeSantis would nominate candidates for attorney general only after seeking and obtaining the DOJ's approval.
Prior Behavior Indicates Future Performance
People are remarkably consistent. You can accurately predict how a person will behave in the future by looking at how they behaved in the past under similar circumstances. When we apply this behavioral science principle to Ron DeSantis, we can predict he will not punish the DOJ.
First, DeSantis waited four days before responding to the raid on Mar a Lago. During that time, he sought the advice of consultants like Jeff Roe and Paul Ryan on how to respond. When he did respond, he took the opportunity to insult the victim, President Trump. Ya know, like a tool.
Next, DeSantis authorized a set of deep-fake, homoerotic, AI-generated images of Donald Trump in compromising positions with Anthony Fauci. DeSantis's campaign paid for and released the images on the internet. DeSantis approved the message. Instead of apologizing for one of the most underhanded lies in American political history, DeSantis claimed people who thought the photos were real are idiots. That's what he thinks of you.
Then, when Trump announced that he had been indicted, DeSantis released a statement prepared in advance that was actually a fundraising letter. In that letter, he promised to do things to the DOJ if elected president. But DeSantis will not keep those promises because of game theory and weak character. We know DeSantis
Finally, Donald Trump was arraigned in Florida today. Ron DeSantis is the governor of Florida, in case you hadn't heard. Last week, DeSantis sanctimoniously decried the weaponization of justice that led to Trump's indictment—before he lied about what he would do if he were ever president. So, you'd think DeSantis would be at the federal court house *in his own state* to protest this grave miscarriage of justice. Well, you'd think wrong. The only Republican candidate for president who went to Miami to protest the weaponization of justice was Vivek Ramaswamey.
Character Is King
Ramaswamey challenged all presidential candidates to join him in denouncing political arrests of leading opposition candidates. No one joined him. Not a single Republican candidate besides Trump and Ramaswamey have the character, courage, or consistency to show up and do what's right. Instead, DeSantis, Halley, Pence, and the rest do only what is politically expedient. They will never risk their own reputations or careers in the defense of justice, nor buck the system in pursuit of liberty. They are shallow, weak, and cowardly.

Donald Trump is the only announced candidate for president who leads all polls against all other candidate. He would be every single Republican head to head, and every declared Democrat head to head.
If the election were held today, Trump would win. By a lot.
Which is why Biden and Garland weaponized the DOJ and why Ron DeSantis and his Republican "opponents" weren't in Miami. DeSantis, Biden, and Garland are on the same team.
Jeb Bush's endorsement of DeSanctimonious tells you everything you need to know.
