Congratulations and Thank You to Rep. Dottie Bailey
Rep. Dottie Bailey has represented Missouri’s 110th House district since winning a landslide in 2018. And another landslide in 2020. She announced today that she will not seek a third term.
In her Facebook post she wrote:
With love and gratitude to my constituents of District 110, as well as the State of Missouri and the greatest nation in history, the United States of America I have decided not to run for re-election in the house for 2022. I have greatly enjoyed serving the wonderful people of Missouri. As promised, I have maintained my staunchly conservative ideals, fighting attempts to advance socialist style policies, gun control and totalitarian moves under the guise of health policy.
I am proud to have worked across the isle with Democrat colleagues in the mutual interest of protecting our most at risk children.
As well, I am moving a district away and taking up an exciting new career as my term ends. I am leaving happy with what I accomplished with unbowed conservative principles and an unmasked smile.
A Fierce Fighter for Liberty and Good Government
In her two terms, Dottie has fought, not just for the 110th, but for the principles on which this country was founded—the principles that seem lost in Washington, Jefferson City, school boards, and counties. Every day of her life as a legislator, Dottie had the chance to write her ticket to bigger and better things by compromising on “just this one, little thing.” She didn’t. She remains a patriot and a Tea Partier throughout.
On education, Dottie increased school accountability to taxpayers and parents
She fought Covid lockdowns and mask mandates for small business owners and students
She eviscerated the crooked House and Senate leaders who used thug tactics to implement the highest tax increase in state history
She partnered with Democrats whenever they found common ground on issues of freedom from government overreach
She refused to “play the game” because she wasn’t in the mood for any games
My old Tea Party friends from across the country regularly write to tell me what an inspiration Dottie has been. “She’s the model of what we need in office,” one national leader told me recently. They will be sad that Dottie is leaving the arena, as am I. But our sadness cannot compare to our pride and appreciation that Dottie dared to step into the arena, face the bull, and keep the republic.
Dottie Didn’t Leave the District in Doubt
As a parting gift to her district, Dottie recruited a stellar champion of conservative values to run for the seat previously held by former speaker Tim Jones and Kirk Matthews.

With the responsibility of representing you in Jefferson City, I knew I could not leave you in the hands of just anyone. To continue the protection of your Constitutional rights, I am enthusiastically endorsing Holly Jones as the next Republican representative candidate of our great district. Holly is a wonderful conservative and shares the same love of our state and country as I do.

Theodore Roosevelt wrote the perfect accolades. I cannot improve, so I will quote:

Amidst the seeming endless proliferation of bad news, reading about this young woman of integrity was a breath of fresh air. Thank you. May God raise up a multitude of local leaders just like her so we may turn the tide of corruption and evil from the bottom to the top!
