NYT Describes Mayhem of “Taxmageddon”, And It Will Scare You Sick

What the hell’s going on at NYT? First, they do a piece on Andrew Breitbart. Then they warn the world that Taxmageddon will crush the world in 2013, beginning with the USA. Here’s how Business Insider summarized the David Leohardt article: Basically, with no changes to current law, taxes will rise for everyone, and after tax, inflation-adjusted income for the average American will drop to 1998 levels. The Election’s Over, and America Gave Obama His Eviction Notice. Here’s What Went Down.

The look on George “Stephie” Stephanopoulos’s face was priceless. He had to say it. “ABC News now projects that President Obama will go down to defeat.” He couldn’t bring himself to say, “Romney won” or “Republicans won.” He just couldn’t. The network analysis was a political cliché run amok. My favorite came from James Carville who told CNN viewers that the election result “proves that crackers and racists vote.” Read more →

Down at the Lake, They Want to Know “Is the Tea Party Dead?”

Is the Tea Party dead? That’s the big question this week around the Lake of the Ozarks. First, Eric Reeve The Lake Liberal wrote this letter-to in Lake News Online. He concludes: We may hear of the Tea Party here and there in the future, but I doubt it will ever figure prominently in American politics again. I say we should take a moment and reflect on what it might have been as we say farewell to the once promising Tea Party movement. A Former Governor and a Famous St. Louis Lawyer Indicted for Illegal Contributions to Democrat Party, and A Law Firm Changes Names in Mid-Quote

Everyone else is writing about the news that former Missouri Democrat Governor, Roger Wilson and local lawyer Ed Griesedieck Jr. were indicted on federal fraud charges today. The two allegedly made contributions to the Democrat Party (legal), and reimbursed themselves out of Missouri Employers Mutual Insurance Company’s coffers (illegal). But that’s not the weird part. After all, election fraud is the Democrats’ principal form of amusement. The weird part is the statement from Griesedieck’s law firm. Read more →

Why People Are Being Unfair to Donald Verrilli

Everyone (including me) is cracking on Donald Verrilli, Obama’s Solicitor General. He figuratively died on the biggest legal stage in the world today. Here’s a sample of the left’s reaction to Verrilli’s performance: Mother Jones: Solicitor General Donald B. Verrilli Jr. should be grateful to the Supreme Court for refusing to allow cameras in the courtroom, because his defense of Obamacare on Tuesday may go down as one of the most spectacular flameouts in the history of the court. Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s Crappy Argument In Support of ObamaCare

I’m often amazed at the weakness of arguments before the Supreme Court. Today, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, attempting to help out the Obama Administration’s fumbling solicitor-general, made the weakest argument I’ve ever heard. First,Ginsburg statement: Mr. Verrilli, I thought that your main point is that, unlike food or any other market, when you made the choice not to buy insurance, even though you have every intent in the world to self-insure, to save for it, when disaster strikes, you may not have the money. Action Alert: Help a David defeat a Goliath

If you think theTea Party’s job was to strengthen the Republican Establishment, stop reading. If you think the Tea Party and the conservative grassroots stands for something larger than party, then you’re needed right now.  A great grassroots candidate in Illinois needs an hour of your time today or tomorrow–to make calls, knock doors, wave signs, or work at polls. The GOP Establishment is pulling out all the stops. Lacking committed grassroots in Southern Illinois, they’re bringing in hired guns from Chicago and around the state. Read more →

America’s Dictator

From the New York Times: President Obama, who came to office promising transparency and adherence to the rule of law, has become the first president to claim the legal authority to order an American citizen killed without judicial involvement, real oversight or public accountability. In one sentence, the newspaper conservatives love to hate condemned Barack Obama to the title “dictator.” Those who voted for him—the ones who still want to be thought of as “American”—will rationalize.
